Garrett is a first-generation disabled college student and the system worked for him. It does not work for everyone. Being born with Cerebral Palsy, he knew education was the one way he could make a meaningful impact on himself. Since then, he dedicated his life to serving students. Garrett’s specialty is in educational leadership, state and Federal grant policy and educational business practices designed to make a strategic impact. When he is not busy with work, he has two little kids at home who give him tons of High fives and dirty diapers.
Garrett has held various local, state, and Federal positions. Beginning with his Americorps experience, Garrett consistently seeks to make his biggest impact in the communities he serves. This led to Garrett serving as a Vice Principal of an adult charter school designed to break the cycle of poverty for families.
Garrett is a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. His academic work focuses on charter schools, homeschools, and governing practices. He also holds a Master's Degree in Teaching from Marian University, a Master's in Strategic Management from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, and a certificate in Educational Law. His wide range of business and educational experiences helps Highfive position itself to reach and support every district and student.
